The event was attended by Vice Standing Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Committee Trang Thi Xuan, Commanding Officer of the Son La provincial Military Command Senior Colonel To Quang Hanh, and leaders of Son La’s departments and sectors.

During the nine-month course, the Lao officers will learn listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills as well as Vietnamese military terms. Participants will also participate in field trips to historical relics and famous landscapes in the province to learn about Vietnam and its people.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Committee Trang Thi Xuan asked the provincial Military Command to closely coordinate with departments and sectors to ensure the best living and learning conditions for the Lao officers and soldiers. Together with enriching their Vietnamese language skills, instructors should share experience in socio-economic development, defense and security consolidation, and social issue settlement.
