Vice State President Vo Thi Anh Xuan affirmed the historical role of the NAM, emphasizing its leading role in upholding international law, strengthening multilateralism, promoting disarmament, reducing economic and financial inequality, and making important contribution to addressing global issues. She expressed confidence that with 120 member countries representing nearly 60% of the world's population and accounting for approximately 20% of the global GDP, the movement will continue to be a guiding voice, fostering unity across the world.

To further enhance the role of NAM, the Vietnamese State leader emphasized the need for member countries to speak with a united voice in addressing global challenges and opposing actions contrary to the principles of peace and independence. She asked the NAM to show solidarity with the Palestinian people, calling for the lifting of unilateral sanctions and embargoes against Cuba and other member countries. Additionally, Vice State President Vo Thi Anh Xuan suggested that the NAM respect the viewpoints and protect the interests of its member countries.

She called on the movement to continue respecting and supporting the efforts of ASEAN in ensuring peace, security, and stability in the East Sea (South China Sea) and the Southeast Asian region, promoting the peaceful measures to address disputes based on international law, including the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) 1982.

An overview of the 19th Non-Aligned Movement Summit

Vice State President Vo Thi Anh Xuan emphasized Vietnam's commitment to contributing to the common cause of the NAM and other developing countries for the progress of humanity, peace, prosperity, and happiness.

During the Summit, Vietnam was elected as the Vice President of the Executive Committee of the 19th Non-Aligned Movement Summit, representing the Asia-Pacific region. On the sideline of the Summit, Vice State President Vo Thi Anh Xuan had important meetings with Cuban Vice President Salvador Valdés Mesa, Beninese Vice President Mariam Chabi Talata, and U.N. General Assembly President Dennis Francis.
