A delegation of Polish businesses, led by Ms. Beata Stelmach, Polish Deputy-Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of economy, will have a fact-finding trip in Vietnam later this month.

In a short interview conducted by the Youth Newspaper, the Polish Deputy Minister unveiled that Poland was concentrating on expanding its economic partnership with Vietnam.

Last year’s bilateral trade reached US $400 million mostly from Vietnamese exports to Poland.

The Polish politician confirmed that Poland has announced a preferential trade loan of US $280 million for Vietnam and laid stress on the country’s willingness to cooperate with Vietnam in several fields, including ship-building. She said, Poland could be a gateway for Vietnamese products to Europe and Vietnam would act as a gateway for Polish products to Southeast Asia.

Speaking about the trip to Vietnam later this month, she said that Polish businesses would seek cooperation opportunities in textiles and garments, sea products, tea and coffee.

Vietnam-Poland import-export volume in the first six months of this year rose by 40 per cent compared to the same period last year. Poland believes that such a growth rate would be higher in the coming time.
