Sudan considers Vietnam a development model
Sudan considers Vietnam a model of development, according to Chairman of the Transitional Military Council Abdalftah Alburhan A. Alrahman Alburhan.
He made the statement at a meeting with Vietnamese Ambassador to Egypt and Sudan Tran Thanh Cong, who came to present his letter of credentials on January 14.

Praising Vietnam’s economic achievements, the host said Sudan can learn a lot in various fields from the Southeast Asian country.
He said he hopes the Vietnamese ambassador will fulfill his missions and make active contributions to the development of bilateral relations.
Ambassador Cong highlighted the sound traditional relations between Vietnam and Sudan, and thanked Sudan for supporting his country at international forums.
He said their bilateral economic partnership was yet to be on par with their political ties. Therefore, in his position, the ambassador pledged to do his utmost to develop the relations in a pragmatic and effective manner, especially in fields of their strengths.
During his visit, the Vietnamese diplomat had a working session with officials from Sudan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs to review cooperation fields that the two sides should promote.
The same day, he visited Honorary Consul General of Vietnam in Sudan Bakri Yousif Omer Osman.
Sudan established diplomatic ties with Vietnam in 1969. The two countries have signed some cooperation documents in agriculture, oil and gas, and trade.
