He made the appeal at a reception for Chief of the KNPA Lee Chul-sung in Hanoi on October 26, saying the RoK has a lot of achievements in criminal science and police profession.

The PM welcomed the guest to Vietnam on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Vietnam-RoK diplomatic ties.

He affirmed the strong support of the Vietnamese government for the enhancement of bilateral cooperative relations in crime prevention to ensure national security and social order and safety in the respective countries.

The PM underlined the importance of increasing cooperation and experience sharing between police agencies, especially when Vietnam is making all-out efforts to ensure absolute safety for the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week 2017 in November.

The two sides need to actively exchange information in the field and expand cooperation in crime prevention, especially non-traditional and cross-border crime, he said.

He expressed his belief that the visit to Vietnam by the KNPA Chief will open a new chapter in collaboration between Vietnamese and Korean police forces.

For his part, Lee Chul-sung said he was glad to work with the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, during which the two sides agreed on a number of important contents, especially the combat against hi-tech crime and ensuring cyber security.

They also agreed to boost cooperation in training in the coming time, he said, adding that the KNPA will continue coordinating with the Vietnamese ministry to exchange information and experience in preventing all kinds of crime, especially non-traditional ones, hi-tech crime, and terrorism.
