HCM City, RoK’s Gyeongsangbuk-do province lift up ties
Ho Chi Minh City and Gyeongsangbuk-do province of the Republic of Korea need to actively coordinate and boost their cooperative and friendly activities under a cooperation agreement between the two localities.
Le Thanh Liem, Standing Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee, made the statement while hosting Deputy Governor of Gyeongsangbuk-do province Joo Joong Chul in Ho Chi Minh City on March 7.
HCM City asked the RoK side to support and facilitate connectivity activities of relevant agencies in making specific plans on organizing economic and cultural activities of the Vietnamese Southern hub in the RoK in 2018, Liem said.
He expressed his delight over effective cooperation between the two localities in the past time, especially the successful organization of the Ho Chi Minh City-Gyeongju World Cultural Festival in 2017.
Joo Joong Chul, for his part, said that the festival was a significant milestone for both sides to boost collaboration in various fields.
He stressed that the RoK side stands ready to support HCM City to organize Vietnamese cultural festival in Gyeongsangbuk-do as well as exchange experience in improving the quality of human resources with the city to enhance mutual understanding and solidarity.
