The delegation, led by Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee Vo Cong Tri, had working sessions with representatives of the South African Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Johannesburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI).
At these events, Da Nang officials introduced their city’s strategic position in Vietnam’s politics, economy, culture and society, along with its socio-economic situation. They asked the South African side to assist Da Nang to enhance trade, investment and tourism links with local agencies, organizations, businesses and people.

They added that Da Nang is ready to welcome delegations of the DTI, the JCCI and South African partners to boost bilateral cooperation.
Medileke Ramushu, head of the DTI’s relations with Asia division, highly valued Da Nang’s development potential, noting that both countries have young population, increasing tourist numbers and complementary agricultural products. He voiced his hope for chances to step up trade and investment ties and cooperation in other fields with Vietnam, including Da Nang, in the time ahead.
Meanwhile, JCCI President Herman Breedt said with nearly 4,000 members, including 400 working in tourism, the JCCI will have a chance to become a potential partner of the Vietnamese city.
He added that the JCCI is ready to help Da Nang seek partners and organize workshops in the city or South Africa to promote trade, investment, tourism and cooperation.
