Co-hosted by the Da Nang People’s Committee and the Embassy of Denmark in Vietnam, the event marks the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Denmark (1971–2026). Nearly 300 participants attended, united by a shared commitment to sustainable development, community responsibility, and stronger ties between the two countries.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang municipal People’s Committee Tran Chi Cuong described Denmark as an important partner of Vietnam in advancing sustainable development, green growth, and energy transition. He noted that cooperation with Danish partners has provided Da Nang with valuable experience in urban planning, environmental management, and green infrastructure development.
Da Nang is working toward becoming a regional hub for innovation, a smart city, an environmental city, and a highly livable destination. Its development strategy focuses on green transformation, digital transformation, and sustainability. According to Cuong, Copenhagen’s advanced urban development models serve as an important reference for improving policies and promoting modern, sustainable, and people-centered growth.
Danish Ambassador to Vietnam Nicolai Prytz highlighted the similarities between Copenhagen and Da Nang, describing both as dynamic coastal port cities committed to sustainable development, green urban planning, people-centered policies, and bicycle-friendly communities.
“With this strong spirit of cooperation, I am confident that relations between Denmark and Da Nang will continue to grow through green transformation, sustainable urban development, innovation, and stronger people-to-people connections in the years ahead,” Prytz said.

A key feature of the event is a community photo exhibition showcasing 18 photographs that highlight Copenhagen’s achievements in sustainable urban planning, people-centered design, and quality-of-life improvements. The exhibition also presents images of Da Nang, reflecting its identity as a peaceful coastal city with dynamic growth and a strong focus on tourism.
The exhibition will remain open to the public through June 22 at APEC Park on September 2 Street in Hai Chau ward, Da Nang City.
