PANO - Vingroup officially began the construction of the first phase of its entertainment-accommodation and ecological-park project by breaking ground for the project on July 12th in Vu Yen island, Hai An district, Hai Phong City. Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai together with central and local leaders attended the ground-breaking ceremony.

Under the Prime Minister's approval, the complex will be built on an area of over 870 hectares in Hai An and Thuy Nguyen districts with total investment of VND 19 trillion (US$ 884.6 million). It includes ecological villas, amusement parks, an ecological park, and a 36-hole international golf course located in the heart of the island as the highlight of the complex. A 1.5 km cable system will also be built to connect bwteen the island and the mainland.

Addressing the event, Deputy PM Hoang Trung Hai highly appreciated the city's efforts in building infrastructure projects to attract more investment, contributing to the city's socio-economic development. He also stressed the significance of the project for the city's long-term growth and urged relevant agencies to closely collaborate in implementing the projects as planned.

Once completed in 2020, the complex is expected to become an important economic center of the city, contributing to the socio-economic development of Hai Phong and neighboring areas.
