The signing ceremony takes place via a video conference.

Sharing the 5G network infrastructure will help these network providers cut costs and increase their investment efficiency.

At the signing ceremony, a representative of the Department of Telecommunications hoped that the signatories would collaborate with each other effectively and reap achievements in sharing the 5G network infrastructure, creating favorable conditions for future commercial development of the 5G network.

Earlier, the telecommunications businesses agreed to focus on such passive infrastructure as stations, antenna masts, and transmission.

It is the first time Vietnamese network providers have tested the sharing of the telecommunications infrastructure at a higher layer such as active infrastructure and 5G radio access network equipment.

By the end of this May, telecom providers will have commercially piloted 5G network in six cities and provinces nationwide, including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, Binh Phuoc and Thua Thien - Hue. The average speed of the 5G network currently reaches 500-600 Mbps, 10 times faster than the access speed of the 4G network.
