STEMCON Vietnam to raise Vietnam’s competence in STEM
PANO – Five hundred delegates from around the globe gathered in Da Nang City to attend a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Conference (STEMCON), jointly held by Arizona State University, Vietnam Fine Arts University, and Da Nang University of Science and Technology, on March 14 and 15.
During the seventh conference, themed “The Future Digital Workforce: Implications and Opportunities in STEM,” business leaders, scholars, and representatives from governmental agencies focused their discussions on challenges and opportunities for the country in the digital economy, workforce trends, educational policies, and innovative models of learning for Vietnam.

Addressing the conference, Uyen Ho, Director of Global Public Affairs of Intel Vietnam and Malaysia, said that Vietnam should identify demands of its workforce to develop suitable innovative education models, so as to train a contingent of skilled workers for digital economy.
STEMCON Vietnam and other similar conferences are opportunities for individuals and organizations to work out strategies to turn Vietnam into a vanguard country in developing human resources.
STEMCON Vietnam was initiated seven years ago, starting from the Higher Engineering Education Alliance Program, which was initially sponsored by Intel Products Vietnam and U.S. Agency for International Development.
The conference serves as a venue for leaders of universities and businesses and policy makers to share ideas to raise Vietnam’s competence in STEM.
