Phu Nhuan Jewelry company has finished finalising its received orders for exported jewelry for the first quarter of 2009, with a total value of over USD 2.1 million, Nguyen Thi Cuc, Deputy General Director of PNJ, announced.
According to the contracts, nearly 210,000 sets of jewelry, made of 10 to 18K gold, will be exported to the U.S, Germany, Denmark and Dubai (the United Arab Emirates) starting from this month.
Ms. Cuc had expected that new orders for the company would increase by 20%. However, orders were only up by 4% due to a decrease in the number of new contracts.
Ms. Cuc stated that he believes that with the opening up of the new market of Dubai, the export volume of the company will increase in the future, as the potential of the market is very high, and there are many chances to sell fine and handicraft products there.
