President of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai and Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung attended the ceremony.
Addressing the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung emphasized that the 96 outstanding farmers honored at the event might not fully represent the nearly 18 million agricultural workers and more than 60 million people living in rural areas. Nevertheless, they embody typical success stories demonstrating determination and aspirations to rise through agricultural production.
According to the Deputy PM, Vietnamese farmers are undergoing increasingly positive changes, reflected in the growing presence and role of young people and the increasingly prominent application of science and technology. Agricultural products are becoming more diverse. Through their skills, intelligence and determination, farmers have developed many effective agricultural production and business models that not only generate wealth for themselves and their families but also create jobs, support communities and make practical contributions to the transformation and development of their localities and the country.
The vision of “ecological agriculture, modern rural areas and civilized farmers” stems precisely from these vivid real-life stories, exemplified by the honored outstanding farmers.
