More than 150,000 new designs in gold, diamond, pearls and precious stone jewelry, not to mention watches from 12 countries and territories are on display at the Vietnam Jewelry Week 2010 which opened in HCM City on Dec. 9.

Organisers said the event offers a rare opportunity for foreign and domestic businesses to explore latest product designs and seek suppliers and buyers. It will help businesses expand operations and keep up with the latest trends in the world. Apart from host Vietnam, firms from France, Hong Kong, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Turkey, Thailand and the US are presenting their collection at the event.

Turkey is participating for the first time at the event with leading firms like Cetas Jewelery, Gulacti Kuyumculuk, Lara Kuyumculuk and Altinbas Mucevhera in attendance.

Orkun Yaman from Turkey's ARPAS AS Co, one of the biggest gold jewelery suppliers in Vietnam said his company is seeking new potential customers through this event.

Vietnam is seen as a market with great potential for jewelery and watches.
