Viettel Global has new General Director
PANO - The Board of Directors of Viettel Global under the Military Industry-Telecoms Group (Viettel) has approved a decision on appointing Do Manh Hung as General Director of Viettel Global, according to Viettel on August 10.
The position was earlier held by Major General Le Dang Dung who has been promoted Viettel’s Chairman and General Director.
Speaking at the ceremony on the assignment, Major General Le Dang Dung directed Viettel Global to focus on capital, finance, and personnel management and other legal issues in the coming time.
Dung highlighted the special and important position of Viettel Global in Viettel, saying that Viettel Global’s business achievement is very meaningful to Viettel because overseas investment is one of the group’s major development pillars and is also the issue that the Party, State and Government are encouraging due to its significance of economy, politics, integration, helping raise Vietnam’s status.
Viettel Global is in charge of overseas investment. So far, Viettel has gained profits in eight out of its ten international markets, namely Peru, Cambodia, Laos, Haiti, Burundi, Timor Leste, Mozambique and Cameroon.
Viettel’s goal is to expand investment in some more countries with a total population of 400 to 500 million people and be listed as one of the top 10 global telecoms companies by 2020.
