Apart from the athletes, the Vietnamese delegation consists of three coaches and five other personnel including officials, interpreters, and doctors.

According to Pham Van Dong, Deputy Head of the delegation, the organizing panel of the games has issued attendance cards to 15 members of the delegation and sent them to the Vietnam Paralympic Association. This card will replace visa to Japan. The card will be activated after the team members complete necessary procedures and before they enter the Paralympic village.

To prevent COVID-19, before heading to Tokyo, the Vietnamese delegation members have to get negative PCR testing results for SAR-CoV-2 in three consecutive days. During their stay in Japan, the delegation members are not allowed to move to other places except the Paralympic village, training areas, competition venues, and dining room.

Five years ago at Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, Vietnamese athletes won one gold, one silver and two bronze medals.

The Tokyo Paralympics will open on August 24 and close on September 5.
