Vietnam ranks third in SEA Games 29’s medal tally
PANO - By the morning of August 21st, Vietnam finds itself ranking third in the medal tally of the ongoing 29th SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The ranking was secured after the Vietnamese delegation won six gold medals in wushu, archery, gymnastics and cycling. Wushu artist, Duong Thuy Vi, and cyclist, Nguyen Thi That, and swimmer Nguyen Thi Anh Vien clinched three more gold medals for Vietnam on that particular day. By the end of the day, Vietnam has ranked third with 8 golds, 5 silvers and 9 bonzes.
Malaysia remains and is followed by Singapore.
Brunei and Cambodia were at the bottom of the list with 4 and 3 bronze medals respectively, while Timor Leste has not yet to secure a medal.
Vietnam sent more than 470 athletes to compete in 32 out of the 38 sporting events from August 19-30. They are determined to bring home 49-59 gold medals to rank third in the list of winners.
