Organizers noted that record participation from both professional and amateur runners reflects the race's growing appeal. Over decades, the Tien Phong Marathon has evolved from a premier athletic competition into a meaningful social activity promoting active lifestyles.

The 2026 edition marks a milestone as the elite men’s and women’s full marathon (42.195 km) results will count toward the 10th National Sports Games medal tally. Consequently, the Nha Trang competition is expected to be a highlight of the national sporting festival.
Athletes will compete in full marathon, half marathon (21.0975 km), 10km, and 5km events. Leading track and field stars expected to participate include Nguyen Thi Oanh, Nguyen Van Lai, Do Quoc Luat, Hoang Nguyen Thanh, and Hoang Thi Ngoc Hoa.

Themed “Welcoming the Sunrise,” the race celebrates the beauty of Nha Trang and the spirit of hope. The course, measured to international standards by Vietnam Athletics Federation experts, passes landmarks such as the Institute of Oceanography, Vinpearl cable car, Tran Phu Bridge, and Do Theater.

Beyond sports, the event features charity programs for fishermen and cultural exchanges. The 67th National Marathon Championship – Tien Phong Marathon runs from March 27 to 29.
