This event is part of the 65th Tien Phong Newspaper Marathon and Long Distance National Championship (Tien Phong Marathon) in 2024.

During the ceremony, a national flag measuring over 1,000 sq.m was stretched out to partially cover the beach, symbolizing the nation's pride and deep gratitude to previous generations who sacrificed to defend the homeland and build the country.

Athlete Le Tran Quoc Bao expressed his emotions, stating that it was his first time to visit Phu Yen, and he was deeply moved to participate in the national flag raising ceremony. He felt proud that Vietnam has many beautiful landscapes, providing him with new and exciting experiences.

More than 3,200 Youth Union members and students from Phu Yen wearing T-shirts with the colors of the national flag formed a map of Vietnam, including the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos.

The organizers sent 200 national flags to soldiers and people on the Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago, expressing gratitude to those who are fulfilling their duty to safeguard the national sovereignty.

The 65th Tien Phong Newspaper Marathon and Long Distance National Championship officially kicked off competitions on March 31.
