International badminton tourney opens in Hanoi
PANO - The Ciputra Hanoi - Yonex Sunrise Vietnam International Challenge badminton tournament is taking place at Tay Ho district’s Gymnasium from March 20-25.

The event attracts 292 badminton players from 18 countries and territories including Japan, China, the Republic of Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, India and Thailand.
Vietnam’s players in the world’s top 100 such as Nguyen Tien Minh, Pham Cao Cuong, Vu Thi Trang, Nguyen Thuy Linh, Do Tuan Duc and Pham Nhu Thao are competing in the event, which offers prizes worth USD 25,000 in total.
The single male and female winner will pocket USD 1,875 each, while the winners of men’s, women’s doubles and mixed doubles will receive USD 1,975.
The tournament is organized by the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports in association with the Hanoi Badminton Federation.
