The event was jointly held by the Uong Bi City People’s Committee (Quang Ninh province), the province’s Journalists Association and Great Race company.
In this first edition, the tournament attracted the participation of more than 3,000 athletes competing in 5km and 8km distances. As a result, four champions were Nguyen Thi Thanh (5km women’s race), Ngo Thi Tuyet Chinh (8km women’s race); Phung Huy Gioi (5km men’s race) and Pham Van Dong (8km men’s race).
