PANO – A seminar entitled “Literature works on the armed forces and the revolutionary struggle after 1975” was held at the People’s Army Newspaper headquarters on April 17th to encourage young writers to write about the post-war revolutionary struggle and the army.
Participants analysed the current situation and positive changes in both content and artistic values of the literature works on the armed forces and the revolutionary struggle after 1975. This is not only task but also obligation of young writers, as the former generation is getting old with fewer efforts.
The participants pointed out advantages and disadvantages of the young generation to write about this topic. Born in peace time, young writers have no practical knowledge and real feelings and emotions about the war. However, they have enough time to look at the war with calm and impartial acknowledgement and at the same time can exploit abundant documentary sources about the war to find new themes for their writing.
Full Colonel Pham Van Huan, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the People’s Army Newspaper, said that relevant agencies should organize more writing camps on this topic in order to help young writers have more interesting literature works on the armed forces and the revolutionary struggle after 1975. In addition, young writers themselves need to dig for new ways of expression in their writing to attract more readers.
