Pianist Gabriel Tran Phuong Nam will perform a piano solo at the concert hall in the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatoire on August 7th.

The 20-year-old pianist, born in Paris, France, will play various classic works by reputed composers namely Bach, Chopin, Beethoven, List, Debussy and Schumann.

Gabriel Tran Phuong Nam started studying piano at the age of 6. He has taken part in a number of international piano competitions and won several awards, such as the first prize of the Claude Kahn International Competition.

At the age of 13, Phuong Nam excellently played Jeux d’Eau, a famous composition by musical composer Maurice Ravel.

He performed with the Jeune Philarmonie de Seine Saint-Denis Orchestra in 2008.

Earlier last year, Phuong Nam was invited to perform a solo at Cathédrale Sainte Croix des Arméniens in Paris.
