Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ho An Phong said that the event is designed to strengthen Vietnam’s cultural identity and bolster international cooperation.
Beyond showcasing artistry, the exhibition aims to build a national brand for Vietnamese photography, expand cultural exchange, and enrich Hue’s photo archive to serve tourism promotion during the Visit Vietnam Year – Hue 2025.
Organizers received more than 6,000 submissions from 415 photographers of 16 countries worldwide. From these, an art council selected 200 works by 133 Vietnamese and international artists for the display. Arranged under the two themes of “Vietnam through the lens of international photographers” and “Hue – ancient capital, new opportunities,” the works offer insights into Vietnam’s landscapes, traditions, daily life, and heritage.
Twenty outstanding photos received top honors, including “Huong river on the day of Hue Nam Palace festival” by Le Dinh Hoang, “Phu Quoc’s appeal” by Le Tuan Anh, and “Floating lanterns at sunset” by Sri Lankan photographer Gunaratne Madugodaralalage Thejapriya Bandu.
