The event was co-organized by the Sri Lankan Embassy in Vietnam, the Vietnamese Women's Museum and the Hanoi Association of Small- and Medium-Sized Enterprises. The first-ever festival served as a bridge between small-and medium-sized enterprises of the two countries.

Speaking at the ceremony, Speaker of the Sri Lankan Parliament Karu Jayasuriya expressed his admiration for Vietnam's achievements and congratulated on good relationship between Sri Lanka and Vietnam. He also hoped that the two countries would further promote their cooperation, especially in agriculture, culture and tourism.

For his part, Assistant to the Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Van Thao highly appreciated the cooperation of the co-organizing units. The art works, images, people and culture of Sri Lanka would inspire and bring good feelings to Vietnamese people, thereby enhancing mutual understanding between the two nations, he added.

The festival taking place from April 27-29 at the Vietnamese Women’s Museum, Hanoi includes various activities such as photo exhibitions, art performances, film screenings on Sri Lanka’ culture as well as the bilateral relations between the two countries.
