PANO – An artistic program to welcome the coming 12th National Party Congress was organized at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Cultural Palace in Hanoi on the evening of January 16th by the People’s Army Newspaper (PAN), the State Bank of Vietnam and the Vietnam Television.

The event, broadcast live on VTV1 channel of the Vietnam Television, saw the presence of President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan, National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong, General Director of the Vietnam Television Tran Binh Minh, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army Lt. Gen. Nguyen Trong Nghia, among other guests.

An art performance at the program

Delivering an opening speech, Major General Pham Van Huan, PAN's Editor-in-Chief, briefed the participants on the 86-year development of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) since its foundation, quoting President Ho Chi Minh’s statement, “Our Party means the moral civilization, unity, independence, peace and prosperity.”

The general held that towards the upcoming 12th National Party Congress, practical and efficient acts of each Party member and each citizen would demonstrate their sentiments and responsibility towards the Party, the nation and themselves. Huan also called on the entire people to embark upon the path chosen by the Party and President Ho Chi Minh to achieve the goal of “rich people, strong nation, and equitable, democratic and civilized society”.

The three-part program entertained the audience with songs and dances performed by famous artists in praise of the Party and Vietnamese revolution as well as documentaries about the Party’s 86-year leadership and 11 congresses. The performances reaffirmed the leading role of the Party and demonstrated the Vietnamese people and troops’ confidence in the ruling political party of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Senior leaders and organizers presenting gifts to units at the event

On this occasion, leaders of the Party, State, General Department of Politics and the organizers offered gifts to troops from the Vietnam People’s Navy, the Air Defence and Air Force Service, the Border Guard Command, the Hanoi Capital Command, and the Coast Guard Command, to encourage them to continue overcoming difficulties to fulfill assigned missions.

The artistic program also contributed to heightening the whole people’s trust in the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam in the national construction and development, expressing the confidence in the success of the upcoming 12th National Party Congress.
