Numerous art programs to be held for celebrating 50th anniversary of national reunification day
PANO - More than 1,500 artists, performers, and musicians from 12 art troupes under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) will travel across provinces and cities to stage performances for the public in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the South Liberation and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 – 2025).
The information was announced by People's Artist Nguyen Xuan Bac, Head of the Department of Performing Arts under the MCST, at a press briefing on April 14 in Hanoi.

Accordingly, the programs will feature carefully staged and artistically rich performances, which will be showcased to the public from April 18 to April 30.
As part of the programs, the Vietnam Cai luong Theater will bring its plays to audiences in Si Ma Cai district, Lao Cai province; the Vietnam Cheo (Popular Opera) Theater will stage performances at Kim Ma Theater in Hanoi; the Viet Bac Folk Music and Dance Theater will entertain audiences in Lang Son and Cao Bang provinces; the Vietnam National Drama Theater will perform at No.1 Trang Tien Street, Hanoi; and the Vietnam Puppetry Theater will delight audiences in Kien Giang province.
One of the highlights of this program series is a special symphony concert commemorating the 50th anniversary of the national reunification day. Under the baton of Japanese conductor Honna Tetsuji, internationally acclaimed pianist Nguyen Viet Trung will perform selected works by composer Trong Bang, alongside pieces by Chopin and Schumann. The concert will take place at 8:00 p.m. on April 21 at the Hanoi Opera House.

In addition, the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet will present the special performance Mua xuan thong nhat (The Spring of Reunification) on the evening of April 29 at the Independence Palace in Ho Chi Minh City.
Speaking at the press conference, Nguyen Xuan Bac emphasized, “The art programs celebrating the 50th anniversary of the national reunification day is not only a commemorative event but also aims to preserve and promote the nation's rich traditional culture and art, while contributing to the development of tourism. This is a large-scale performance campaign, aiming to spread unique cultural values of Vietnam to both the public and international visitors.”
