Entitled Betonamu No Kaze Ni Fukarete (Final Days of Life in Vietnam), the movie features an expatriate Japanese teacher in Vietnam, who brings along her mother to start a new life in the country.

The movie is based on writer Komatshu Miyuki's life story entitled Echigo no Bachan Vietnam e Yuku (Echigo's Grandma Goes to Vietnam).

Japanese actress Keiko Matsuzaka, singer Fujie Reina, the band NMB48 and Vietnamese veteran actor Tran Hanh are part of the film's cast.
