A temple to commemorate Emperor Quang Trung (1753-92) will be built in the Dong Da Culture Park, a historic relic site in Hanoi’s Dong Da district.

The temple will be lower in height than the statue of Emperor Quang Trung, which was erected in the park about 20 years ago to mark the Ngoc Ho-Dong Da victory over the Chinese Qing invaders.

In the early spring of 1789, Nguyen Hue who was later proclaimed Emperor Quang Trung, launched a surprise attack and defeated more than 29,000 Qing soldiers in a five-day battle during the lunar New Year.
