Sr. Lt. Gen. Chien highlighted that this event holds great political and diplomatic significance, contributing to reinforcing strategic trust between the two militaries, while demonstrating Vietnam’s long-standing commitment to nations that have stood by and supported Vietnam during its struggle for national protection and development.
Amid the complex development of the global and regional situation, Vietnam’s participation in the Red Square parade is a concrete action affirming its consistent foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization, diversification, and demonstrating its responsibility in building and maintaining a peaceful, stable, cooperative, and developed environment.
He added that the presence of the Vietnam People's Army at Red Square not only symbolizes peace but also is an opportunity to elevate the image, status, and identity of the Vietnam People’s Army, a revolutionary, regular, elite, and gradually-modernized military which is ready to contribute to international efforts for peace and sustainable development. This event also serves as a valuable opportunity for young Vietnamese officers and cadets to gain experience in organizing and participating in large-scale international events, contributing effectively to major political-defense activities of the Party and the State in the future.
The defense leader asked the participating officers and soldiers to uphold the noble qualities of "Uncle Ho’s Soldiers," strictly comply with discipline, overcome difficulties related to weather, time zones, living conditions, and health care, maintain strong determination and solidarity to spread the good image of the Vietnamese soldier in the eyes of international friends.
