Nineteen delegations with over 700 athletes and actors and actresses from 12 communes, wards, agencies, units, and schools in the locality participated in this festival.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of Dien Bien Phu municipal People’s Committee Dao Hoai Nam, head of the organizing panel of the festival, confirmed that this annual event aims to promote the movement in which all people are united to build cultural life, and the campaign encouraging local people to improve their physical strength with President Ho Chi Minh as an exemplary model.

These activities, according to the city leader, will help build and develop an advanced Vietnamese culture deeply imbued with national identities.
The festival is also an opportunity for local ethnic minority groups to meet, exchange, introduce their traditional cultural values, honor, preserve, and promote their cultural identities. It is an interesting playground for local people and visitors and a place to popularize tourism development potential and strengthen the great national unity bloc.
The opening ceremony entertained visitors and local people with a typical artistic program which consisted of three parts, namely appealing Dien Bien, colors of convergence, and new days in Dien Bien.

A number of interesting activities will be held during the three-day festival, including a traditional singing and dancing competition; a traditional costume show; a display of local farm produces, OCOP products, handicraft products, musical instruments, and farming tools; a traditional culinary contest, and other traditional sports games.
