The Hoi An Sports-Culture Center has opened a course on traditional instruments for all members of the city’s arts and letter movement at an old house at 105 Bach Dang Street, near the Cau Pagoda.
This is the first time that Hoi An authorities have enrolled two foreigners in such a course, Manuel Insbery and Maria Schneider from Germany, who are working in the city.
This one-year course will provide trainees with both theoretical and practical lessons on traditional Vietnamese instruments.
During the course, trainees will learn how to play the traditional 16-chord zither, monochord, two-chord fiddle, flute and drums.
