The festival, the fifth of its kind since 2012, will see competitions in the two categories of Pop and Classic.

The festival aims to promote musical potential of young people.

This year’s festival is open to not only Hanoi’s contestants but also those from other regions in the country. Contestants, who do not live and study in Hanoi, should send DVDs of their performances to the organizers. If the contestants’ entries are selected, they will advance to the second round of the festival.

Contestants should register for the festival from June 16 to July 31 this year. The festival’s first round, entitled  “Got talent”, will be held on August 10 and 11 at the Trung Nguyen Creative Space in Hanoi while the second round, entitled “Shining”, will be organized on August 16 and 17.

The gala night and awarding ceremony will take place at the performance room of the Hanoi-based National Economics University on August 18.

The art jury members are experienced Vietnamese musicians and artists at home and abroad.

Festival’s manager Nguyen Ngoc Thuan hoped, through this musical playground, music talents nationwide will be found, and music centers, schools, teachers would promote music education.
