30 domestic and 16 international delegates opened an exhibition of 700 bonsai at the three-day Asia-Pacific Bonsai Festival 2015 in Ho Chi Minh City on June 5.
During the event, there will be a bonsai pruning technique workshop and an auction.
Addressing the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee, Tat Thanh Cang said that the event was an opportunity for Vietnam to promote its bonsai expertise to regional and international countries, and for its artisans to exchange experience, and promote bonsai trading.
He added that the city has planned to increase the cultivation area of decorative trees to 7,000 hectares by 2020 and 9,000 hectares by 2025 (accounted for 21% cultivation land).
