PANO - All documentaries in the 7th European-Vietnamese Documentary Film Festival will be screened for free in Hanoi from June 10th to 19th and in Ho Chi Minh City from June 11th to 20th.
The news was released at a press conference held by the Central Documentary and Scientific Film Studio and the European embassies and cultural institutes on June 9th in Hanoi.

Nine Vietnamese documentary films taking part in the festival are Tieng vi cam o My Lai (The Sound of the Violin in My Lai), Cho que (Countryside Market), Con lai voi thoi gian (Lasting with the time), Trường Sa - Việt Nam (Truong Sa - Vietnam), Gieo chu tren may (Sowing Words on Clouds), Bac si Tran Duy Hung - Mot nguoi Ha Noi (Doctor Tran Duy Hung - A Hanoian), Ngheo da chieu o Dong Mam (“Multidimensional Poverty” in Dong Mam), Song Hong 12 khuc (12 Reaches of the Red River), and Giot nuoc giua dai duong (A Drop in the Ocean). Notably, A Drop in the Ocean by Director Dao Trong Khanh features stories about late General Vo Nguyen Giap, who dedicated his whole life to the country's independence and freedom.
The Israel filmmaking group, joining in the festival for the first time, along with eight other European groups will take part in the event this time. In addition, young filmmakers from seven Southeast Asian countries, including the host Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar and Thailand will introduce their films and exchange ideas with the audience during the festival.
Addressing the press conference, General Director of the Central Documentary and Scientific Film Studio Pham Thi Tuyet held that the festival aims to help the audience learn more about a variety of cultures of the participating countries. In addition, the festival is to affirm the close collaboration and cultural exchanges between European countries and Vietnam, she added.
Two documentaries, "Sound of Heimat" (Germany) and "Lasting with the time" (Vietnam), will be screened at the opening ceremony on June 10th in Hanoi.
