Speaking at the ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Minh Tam said the project demonstrates Vietnam’s special attention to the healthcare development and social welfare of the Lao people. He highlighted that the expanded hospital will enhance medical capacity for local residents and neighboring areas, improve service quality, reduce overloading at existing facilities, and provide a better working environment for doctors and medical staff, aiming towards safe and effective patient care.

He expressed deep gratitude to the Party, State, Government and people of Vietnam for their assistance, and called on relevant Lao agencies to closely coordinate with stakeholders to ensure timely implementation.
With a total investment of 3 million USD, the project is scheduled for 2025–2026. It will comprise a two-storey main building with a floor area of 3,320 sqm, housing departments for general examination, emergency, obstetrics and pediatrics, surgery, and inpatient wards with 43 beds. Supporting facilities will include a medical gas supply unit, a power generator, a wastewater treatment station, along with associated infrastructure such as 2,439 sqm of internal roads and yards, power and water systems, and advanced medical equipment.
