The Mid-Autumn Festival attracted the participation of nearly 1,200 teenagers and children, including 200 students and teachers from Avia Primary School and La Co Ethnic Boarding Secondary School in Laos' Sepon district.

During the event, children enjoyed lion and dragon dances, eagerly paraded with lanterns, shared traditional mooncakes, took part in folk games, and watched cultural performances under the bright moon in the border area.

Speaking at the event, Colonel Dinh Xuan Hung, Political Commissar of the Quang Tri Provincial Border Guard Command, emphasized that the gathering of children from both sides of the border not only brought joy, but also helped strengthen the special friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.

The Quang Tri Provincial Border Guard and the Savannakhet Provincial Border Protection Forces, along with local Party committees, authorities, benefactors, teachers, and the community, continue to provide support and create better opportunities for children to learn, train, play, and grow.

At the event, the organizing panel awarded over 1,300 gifts worth more than VND 400 million to students, teenagers, and children in border areas, as well as to schools and border protection forces in Savannakhet Province.

The Quang Tri Provincial People’s Committee also presented a television to Huong Viet Primary and Secondary School and awarded 20 scholarships to disadvantaged students with outstanding academic records. The Quang Tri Provincial Border Guard Command donated 18 bicycles to students.

On this occasion, the Party Committee and Border Guard Command of Quang Tri Province directed units along the  border line to work with local Party committees, authorities, and partner organizations to hold 33 “Border – Mid-Autumn Festival” programs, distributing 13,500 gifts, worth over VND 2.7 billion to teenagers and children.

The same afternoon, Huong Lap Border Post organized a "Border Lesson" at Border Landmark No.591 for over 400 students from both sides of the border.
