In terms of politics, Vietnam has maintained political stability, an important factor ensuring sustainable and long-term development. The political system has been improved and has become increasingly effective, while the leadership capacity of the Party and the governance capacity of the State have continued to be enhanced. Vietnam has persistently built and improved a socialist rule-of-law state, expanded democracy, strengthened discipline, and intensified efforts to prevent and combat corruption and other social evils.
In terms of national defense and security, Vietnam has built a firm whole-people’s defense posture and a people’s security posture, resolutely safeguarding independence, sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity amidst increasingly complex regional and global developments.
Economically, the scale of Vietnam’s economy has expanded significantly, with growth rates among the highest in the world. Socially, the country’s multidimensional poverty rate has declined sharply and Vietnam has been assessed by the United Nations as one of the most successful countries in hunger elimination and poverty reduction. The development orientation that places people at the center has been clearly reflected throughout Vietnam’s renewal process.
In foreign affairs, Vietnam has affirmed its increasingly important role and international standing. From a country subjected to blockade and embargo, Vietnam has become a trustworthy partner and an active, responsible member of the international community. Vietnam has established an extensive global network of diplomatic relations based on equality, mutual respect, and mutual benefit, including comprehensive partners, strategic partners, and comprehensive strategic partners. Vietnam has also successfully undertaken many important international responsibilities, such as serving as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council and Chair of ASEAN; actively participating in U.N. peacekeeping operations; and promoting a constructive and responsible voice on regional and global issues such as peace, security, sustainable development, and climate change. These efforts have contributed to promoting dialogue, reducing confrontation, and strengthening cooperation in a world marked by deep divisions.
“These achievements continue to affirm the right, steadfast, and wise leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, as well as the spirit of solidarity and unity of the entire Vietnamese nation. This is a solid foundation for Vietnam to enter a new phase of development with strategic vision and stronger development goals,” said Ambassador Khamphao Ernthavanh.
According to the diplomat, one of the greatest values Vietnam brings to the international community is its development model that harmoniously combines economic growth, political stability, and social progress. Vietnam has become a source of inspiration for many developing countries. Vietnam has demonstrated that national independence, socio-political stability, and international integration not only do not exclude one another, but also reinforce and promote each other through appropriate policies and long-term vision.
