Cozy Chol Chnam Thmay festival held
PANO - Chol Chnam Thmay is the largest traditional New Year festival of the Khmer ethnic group, expressing the people’s hope for a new year and welcoming a new crop.
During the festival, they hold many traditional activities, such as New Year celebration, rice offering ceremony, and requiem ceremony, among others. The events are held at Khmer Theravada temples, under the observation of Acha - prestigious men conversant with Khmer customs.
On the occasion, the Khmer people also visit their relatives and wish each other good health and happiness.
