During the press briefing, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Thanh Lam highlighted the significant achievements of AMRI 16. He noted that the ministers affirmed and redefined the role of the information sector in the new era, shifting from "information" to "knowledge." Information is now seen as a valuable tool for life-long learning, raising awareness, and enhancing digital literacy for ASEAN citizens. This transformation is an inevitable trend in the digital age, influenced by social media and new media platforms, as well as the development of artificial intelligence.

ASEAN Information Ministers adopted several new documents and acknowledged the progress of cooperation in the information sector, such as:

1. The Vision Statement of AMRI themed "ASEAN 2035: Towards a Transformative, Adaptive, and Self-Reliant Information and Communications Sector." This statement aims to promote the reach of the ASEAN Community Vision 2025 and support the corresponding plans in the three pillars of ASEAN Community.

2. The Da Nang Statement on "Communication: From Information to Knowledge for a Self-Reliant and Adaptive ASEAN." This statement recognizes the pivotal role of communications in contributing to the goal of educating well-informed citizens.

The conference reached a consensus to convene the 17th AMRI Meeting and related meetings in Brunei Darussalam in 2025. They expressed their gratitude to the host country, Vietnam, for its meticulous organization of AMRI 16. The meetings were conducted in the spirit of ASEAN unity and traditional friendship.
