Writing contest for children kicked off

PANO - The Kim Dong Publishing House, in association with the Young Pioneer Newspaper and the “For beloved Hoang Sa, Truong Sa” Club, on August 30 launched a writing contest with the topic “Stories about Seas and Islands” for children nationwide.

All Vietnamese children, aged from 9 to 15, are eligible to participate in this contest. Entries with no more than 500 words have not been published in newspapers or books before.
The organizing panel will present one first prize (worth VND 2 million), one second prize (worth VND 1 million), two third prizes (worth VND 500,000 each) and three consolation prizes (worth VND 300,000 each) for the best stories. They will also award a special prize valued at VND 2 million for the participating organization that has the largest number of entries. All prizes will include gifts from the organizing panel.
The entries should be sent to the Kim Dong Publishing House’s Media Room at 22 Hang Chuoi Street, Hai Ba Trung district, Hanoi, or to truyenthong.nxbkimdong@gmail.com from September 1 to November 30, 2016.
The award ceremony is scheduled to take place in December 2016 in Hanoi.
