The organizing panel presents the first prize of the photo contest to Tran Duy Tinh.

The event saw the attendance of Mrs. Truong My Hoa, Former Vice State President and Chairman of the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund.

Accordingly, the “Hoang Sa (Paracel) - Truong Sa (Spratly) - DK Platforms in my heart” photo contest drew the participation of photographers and sea and islands lovers across the country. The organizing panel received 650 entries of 88 contestants from 23 provinces and cities.

These photos captured daily moments of troops and local people and their activities to safeguard national sovereignty over sea and islands. They also featured the sentiments of troops and local people on the mainland for beloved Truong Sa, Hoang Sa, and DK platforms.

After the assessment, the organizing panel selected 11 outstanding works to award one first, two second, three third and five consolation prizes.

Regarding the writing contest themed “National sea and islands in my heart,” there were 1,000 entries by 800 writers submitted to the organizer.

The entries reflected the potential, beauty of national sea, islands, and great sacrifices of naval troops, relations between troops and people, the beauty of laborers, and fishermen’s spirit of reaching out to the sea and protecting islands, and feelings about visiting troops and people in Truong Sa island district and DK1 platform, among others.

The organizing panel presented one first, two second, three third and twelve consolation prizes to outstanding writers.

The same day, the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund and the “For beloved Truong Sa and Hoang Sa” Club launched an exhibition entitled “Ten-year journey for beloved Truong Sa and Hoang Sa” at the HCM City Youth Cultural House.

On the occasion, the units organized an art exchange program on national sea  and islands with various activities.
