Naval troops disseminate information about national sea and islands
PANO - Flotilla 21 under the Naval Region 2 Command organized a program on May 4 to disseminate information about the security situation at sea and on islands, and illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing among fishermen in Tam Quang commune, Nui Thanh district, Quang Nam province.
During the program, the delegates and fishermen were instructed on how to define the baseline, internal, territorial and contiguous waters, and exclusive economic zones in line with the U.N. Convention on the Law of the Sea 1982.
Meanwhile, they were updated with the security situation and safety at sea and on islands, basic contents of the Vietnam Law of the Sea, the Law on the Vietnam Coast Guard, and IUU fishing regulations.

On the occasion, Flotilla 21 presented 40 gifts, worth VND 500,000 each, and 500 national flags to needy fishermen to encourage them to continue fishing at sea.
