The “Towards national sea and islands” artistic program has been jointly held for years by the Ho Chi Minh City municipal Fatherland Front Committee and the Ho Chi Minh City Television to call for donations to the “National Sea and Islands - Fatherland Front-line” Fund. More than VND 360 billion has been raised, of which VND 301 billion has been used to take care of troops and people in border areas and on islands.

This year’s event will review the ten-year journey of the “National Sea and Islands - Fatherland Front-line” Fund and and activities to take care of troops and people living in border areas, at sea, and on islands.

At the program, the audience will be entertained with performances and songs about national sea and islands and in praise of the love for the Fatherland. They will be performed by artists who have been to Truong Sa island district of Khanh Hoa province and islands in the Southwestern region. The event will also see the participation of border guards and naval troops, which is expected to strengthen the relationship between troops and people.  

Speaking at the press meeting, Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City’s Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Pham Minh Tuan said that through the artistic program, the organizing panel continues to call on agencies, units, organizations, businesses, religious organizations, and overseas Vietnamese to donate to the “National Sea and Islands - Fatherland Front-line” Fund.

He added that in the coming time the city’s Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee will continue to disseminate information related to border, sea, and islands; visit and present gifts to troops and people in border areas, at sea, and on islands; well carry out policies for troops’ families; encourage youths in the city to observe their military duties.
