PANO - The flooding season in the Mekong Delta province of An Giang is close to its end and the province remains attractive to tourists with Tra Su indigo forest, Cham village named Bung Binh Thien, Ta Pa palm farm, and Tinh Bien border area.

November onward is the harvest time of palm fruit, a typical product of Tinh Bien and Tri Ton border districts. In Tri Ton district, Ta Pa farm is an alluring and poetic destination with green rice fields and yellow ripe palm fruits.
These days, on Vinh Te canal in Tinh Bien district, it is easy to see locals casting their nets to catch fish and shrimp from 3am. Locals are trying to catch more fish and shrimp at any time possible to earn their living.
“Hades fish-market” near Vinh Te canal and Tha La bridge in Tinh Bien district is a must-visit place when visiting An Giang at the end of the flooding season.  The market sells fresh specialties as eel, ca loc (a kind of fresh water fish), red clawed crab, ca linh (a typical kind of fish in An Giang). Noticeably, this fish-market is open during the flooding season, from 2am to 7am between September and November.

Children with head torches often follow their parents to sell c at dawn. In Tinh Bien district, each kilogram of red clawed crab is only VND 10,000.

Households in Vinh Trung commune, Tinh Bien district busy with catching tree-toads to serve tourists during Tet holiday. Added with spices, tree-toads will be dried in the sun. Fried sun-dried tree-toad is a typical dish of the locality. Each kilogram of sun-dried tree toads costs VND 300,000 to 500,000.
Children are from the Cham village of Bung Binh Thien in An Phu district. A tour to Bung Binh Thien village during this time offers tourists a comprehensive view of locals’ lifestyle and typical culture.
The Cham Islam or Cham Muslim community in Bung Binh Thien village contributes to the making of the Cham culture in the Mekong Delta.
Tra Su indigo forest is an interesting destination that tourists should not miss during their visit to An Giang province. At the end of the flooding season, trees in this indigo forest grow up. It is ideal for tourists to sit on jolly boats to explore the indigo forest.
For adventure-loving tourists, they could walk through the forest, enjoy the nature and rest under the shade of high trees.
