Joining hands in promoting tourism
In the digital transformation plan for the 2021-2025 period, Ninh Binh’s tourism sector aims to synchronously develop a smart tourism ecosystem by 2025, promote the application of artificial intelligence, virtual travel assistants, and other advanced technologies to serve tourists, the community, businesses, and state management agencies on tourism, contributing to turning tourism into a key economic sector of the province.

According to Nguyen Van Minh, Director of the Ninh Binh Tourism Promotion Information Center under the provincial Department of Tourism), up to now, the center has built and put AI-powered virtual tourism guide software, Chatbox AI, into operation. The center has created nearly 100 accounts for businesses to introduce their services on the smart tourism software of the sector; conducted marketing campaigns across seven social media platforms; and produced more than 120 videos for promotional activities with more than 7 million interactions. Meanwhile, the center has collaborated with major marketing platforms such as Amazing Things to create clips and promotional campaigns, some of which have attracted over 3 million interactions and followers.
Le Thi Bich Thuc, Deputy Director of the Hoa Lu Ancient Capital Historical and Cultural Heritage Conservation Center, shared that the center currently preserves and stores around 1,000 artifacts, including many valuable items and five national treasures. Many of these items are carefully stored and rarely displayed to the public for viewing.

Implementing the heritage digitization program, over the past time, the center has worked with other units to implement information technology in the preservation and promotion of these historical sites. This has helped make artifact conservation more scientific while also allowing tourists to have easier access to understand and appreciate the unique values of the heritage.
Attentively, during the digital transformation progress, Ninh Binh’s tourism and cultural sectors have mobilized the active involvement of organizations and individuals in tourism activities. According to Duong Thi Thanh, President of the Ninh Binh Tourism Association, tourism businesses have strengthened the application of digital technologies in management and provided online services to customers; many businesses and units have completed the ecosystem for services, shopping, and cuisine.
Establishing a digital transformation ecosystem
Nguyen Manh Cuong, Director of the Ninh Binh provincial Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, stated that it is essential to promote digital transformation and the increased application of scientific and technological achievements in the conservation of the Trang An heritage sites in the current period. This serves as a bridge bringing the heritage sites closer to the community, making positive contributions to the process of preserving and upholding cultural values, developing heritage sites as tourism products that boost socio-economic development, and helping popularize the image of Trang An to the world. This would realize the vision of Ninh Binh as a Millennium Heritage City.

Regarding the tourism sector, Nguyen Van Minh, Director of the Information and Tourism Promotion Center underlined that the digital transformation efforts in the coming time will continue to focus on three main targets, namely state management agencies, businesses, and tourists. The sector will continue to coordinate with relevant units to open refresher courses for managers and staff involved in management work, and travel and accommodation businesses about digital transformation, online marketing, and online sales, to name but a few, thereby creating positive spillovers, contributing to forming a digital transformation ecosystem that preserves and promotes the values of the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex and drives Ninh Binh’s tourism to make new breakthroughs.
