Also at the event, VNAT Deputy Director General Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong said that Vietnam has already opened an office in the Republic of Korea. Therefore, it is necessary to open more in other countries, contributing to the development of the sector.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the National Tourism Advisory Board Tran Trong Kien affirmed that Vietnamese embassies in foreign countries cannot replace the important role of tourism promotion offices. For example, Singapore has 23 tourism promotion offices abroad.

In December, under the framework of the 2019 Vietnam Tourism High-level Forum, the VNAT, in cooperation with the National Tourism Advisory Board, will introduce two tourism promotion offices in the UK and Australia which will operate on the basis of the private-public form.

In addition, increasing the number of tourism promotion offices abroad is one of the major topics on the agenda of the forum, which will take place at JW Marriot Hotel in Hanoi on December 9.
