Vietnam to reopen international tourists from March 15
PANO – The Government Office released Announcement No.43/TB-VPCP on February 16 following the decision of Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam on reopening the country to international tourists.
Accordingly, Deputy PM Vu Duc Dam agreed to reopen tourism activities from March 15 under new normal conditions.
From March 15, restrictive measures on visa issuance will be halted, and the granting of visas for foreigners will be implemented as before the pandemic, including electronic visa issuance, unilateral and bilateral visa exemption.
International travelers coming to Vietnam do not have to sign in a specific tour or route but they need a certificate of COVID-19 vaccination and negative SARS-CoV-2 testing result before boarding the plane.
Deputy PM Vu Duc Dam asked the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to collaborate with relevant agencies to announce a detailed reopening plan to be applied nationwide.
