Despite the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, Vietnam outperformed other nominees such as China, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, India, the Republic of Korea and Sri Lanka to sustain the title. In its announcement, the WTA said Vietnam has emerged from a tough field to become ‘Asia’s Leading Destination.’
Vietnam was also awarded Asia's Leading Sustainable Tourism Destination. Meanwhile, Hoi An, Ha Long Bay, and Cuc Phuong National Park have been recognized as Asia's Leading Cultural City Destination, Asia's Leading Tourist Attraction, and Asia's Leading National Park, respectively.
The World Travel Awards were founded in 1993 to acknowledge, reward, and celebrate achievement in the travel, tourism, and hospitality industry. The World Travel Awards brand is known around the world as the pinnacle of industry achievement.
