The United Nations World Tourism Organisation, UNWTO, will assign some experts to help local people in remote areas develop a home stay tourism model, said Mr. Taleb Rifai, General-Secretary of the Organisation at a press conference in Hanoi on April 20th, held by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Along with experts, UNWTO will transfer some documents and share experience in sustainable tourism development and solutions to environmental protection to Vietnam so that Vietnam could improve its tourism management and development.
Also at the conference, Mr. Taleb Rifai stressed that Vietnam had gained various achievements and become one of the Asian countries with highest growth rate in tourism development over the past years.
However, Vietnam needs more campaigns to popularise the image of Vietnam to the outside world. He also pointed out the recent recognition of Halong Bay as one of New Natural Wonders of the World.
